Get Posting vs Postiz

A Postiz alternative you do not have to host

Postiz is open source, self-hostable, and posts to far more social platforms than we do. Get Posting covers seven, with the connections already approved and every post checked before it schedules.

We make Get Posting. We have tried to represent Postiz fairly, linked every claim to their official pages, and said plainly where they are the better choice. Open source infrastructure, checked on 8 August 2026. Found something out of date? Send us the official source and we will correct it.

You found an open source scheduler, put it on your server, and it came up first try. Then Instagram asked for a privacy policy, terms, and a screencast of your app.

That was three weeks ago. You have not posted anything yet.

Postiz is not badly built. This is the bill attached to owning it. Postiz Cloud moves that bill away. Either way: did you want to own a scheduler, or start posting?

If it was to start posting, you want an alternative to Postiz that somebody else hosts and keeps approved. That is our case, including what you lose.

The short answer

Thirty seconds, then decide if you want the detail

Choose Get Posting if

  • You post to the mainstream seven and want the connections handled for you
  • You want to see why a post would fail before you schedule it, not after
  • You run clients and want the calendar and analytics to separate by client
  • You already use Claude or ChatGPT and would rather it did the writing
  • You want automations that can hold every reply for approval

Choose Postiz if

  • You want to own and self-host your scheduler, permanently and for free
  • You post outside the mainstream seven: Mastodon, Bluesky, Reddit, Pinterest
  • You want AI writing, image and video generation built into the tool
  • You want old posts recycled or a feed turned into posts, or you publish past our caps
  • You connect more accounts than our fifty, where their top plan carries a hundred

At a glance

Thirteen rows, sourced and dated

Every claim about Postiz links to their own page and carries the date we checked it. Where our research could not establish something, the row says so rather than guessing, because silence in their documentation is not proof that a feature is missing. Open any row to see why it matters.

Connecting a social account

Get Posting

Yes

Already approved. Click connect, pick the accounts, post.

Postiz

Yes, differently

Cloud connects like ours. Self-hosted means your own approved app per platform.

Why this matters. On their cloud, the same OAuth click as ours. Self-hosted, you get your own developer app approved first.

Running it on your own server

Get Posting

No

Hosted only. No open source edition.

Postiz

Stronger here

Open source. Docker Compose, standalone Docker, or Kubernetes with Helm.

Why this matters. The reason a lot of people choose Postiz. If you want to own your install, stop here.

Social platforms you can post to

Get Posting

7 platforms

X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube.

Postiz

30+ platforms

All seven of ours, plus Mastodon, Discord, Bluesky, Reddit and Pinterest.

Why this matters. The other row that can end it. Anything outside the mainstream seven and nothing below helps.

A different version for each platform

Get Posting

Yes

Edit each platform's version before it goes out, from one composer.

Postiz

Yes

Cross-posting with per-platform copy, plus AI-generated variants.

Why this matters. The central job of a multi-platform scheduler. Both do it properly.

Postiz source: Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

Catching a post that would fail

Get Posting

Yes

Every selected platform checked in the composer, with the exact reason it would fail.

Postiz

Could not verify

Their MCP returns validation errors. An equivalent check in the composer we could not verify.

Why this matters. Whether you find out before you schedule, or after it fails.

Scheduling a thread

Get Posting

Yes

X and Threads, published in order as a real sequence.

Postiz

Yes, differently

X, Threads and Bluesky, plus scheduled comments on LinkedIn and Facebook.

Why this matters. A thread publishes as a connected sequence or it is not a thread.

Keeping one client separate from another

Get Posting

Yes

Pick a group and the composer, calendar, posts, Inbox and analytics follow it.

Postiz

Could not verify

Customer groups organise accounts on every paid plan. Whether they narrow those views is unverified.

Why this matters. Grouping the accounts is half the job. Filtering the calendar and the numbers is the other half.

Giving a client their own workspace

Get Posting

Yes

Several workspaces under one login, each with its own accounts, team, settings and billing.

Postiz

Yes, higher plan

In their white-label enterprise product from $200 a month, not accepting new applications.

Why this matters. Some client work needs separate accounts, a separate team and a separate bill.

Who writes the posts

Get Posting

Yes, differently

No generator built in. Your own assistant drafts into your workspace through our MCP.

Postiz

Stronger here

AI Copilot on every plan, plus image and video generation rising by tier.

Why this matters. A fork in the road, not a gap. One generates for you; the other assumes it is yours.

Posting from Claude or ChatGPT

Get Posting

Yes

Drafts, repairs, schedules and reads analytics, through a queue you can cancel from.

Postiz

Yes

Drafts, schedules, or publishes instantly with no queue step.

Why this matters. Both let an assistant get a post live without you. The difference is the route it takes.

Postiz source: Postiz MCP tools reference, checked 8 August 2026

Reposting old content automatically

Get Posting

No

Nothing reposts itself and nothing turns a feed into posts.

Postiz

Stronger here

Repeated posts, RSS auto-posting and signatures.

Why this matters. If you want a queue that refills without you writing anything, this is the whole decision.

Postiz source: Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

Posts you can publish a month

Get Posting

400 to 5,000

400 on Creator, 1,000 on Pro, 5,000 on Max.

Postiz

Unlimited

Unlimited on every plan.

Why this matters. A ceiling you hit in week three makes every other row on this page irrelevant.

Postiz source: Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

Auto-replying to comments and DMs

Get Posting

Yes

Three fixed outcomes on every plan, each in review or automatic mode.

Postiz

Yes, differently

Plugs fire on engagement thresholds, plus AI auto-replies. Broader triggers, no review step documented.

Why this matters. Both act on engagement. The difference is what fires them, and whether anything leaves unread.

The part nobody budgets for

Self-hosted, connecting is not a click. You create developer apps, publish policies, record a video, and submit for review. Postiz says Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube usually take more than a month. They will do it for a fee.

We do that work instead, and keep doing it, because APIs change and approvals lapse. This is not a usability claim. A miserable job has moved from your side of the line to ours.

Where Postiz wins

The honest list of things Postiz does better

Not a token paragraph. These are real advantages, several of them decisive depending on what you need, and no row further up this page cancels them out.

You can own it outright

Open source and self-hostable. Run it on your own server and nobody can raise the price or shut it down. We have no self-hosted option and no plan for one.

Postiz self-hosting quickstart, checked 7 August 2026

It reaches far more of the internet

Thirty plus social platforms against our seven, including Mastodon, Discord, Bluesky, Reddit and Pinterest. We support none of those and nothing else here makes up for it.

Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

The tool itself will write and generate for you

AI Copilot on every plan, image and video generation rising by tier, and a Smart Agent that composes through conversation. If you want generation in-product, that is theirs.

Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

A queue that refills itself

Repeated posts and RSS auto-posting keep content going out without you writing anything new. We have nothing equivalent.

Postiz pricing, checked 8 August 2026

A wider surface for developers and AI assistants

Public API, webhooks, a CLI, an n8n node, a Make integration, and an MCP that publishes instantly and generates media. Ours is one MCP and a REST API.

Postiz MCP tools reference, checked 8 August 2026

No monthly post ceiling

Every Postiz plan is unlimited posts, against our 400, 1,000 and 5,000. If you publish heavily, ours is a wall and theirs is not.

Read the first item again, because for many it settles the question. If control is what you are buying, pay for it and do not look back. The rest is for everyone else.

What we built instead

Three parts of Get Posting could have had more bolted on. The restraint is the product, not a hole in it.

The composer checks before it schedules. Each version is checked as you write: caption length, image or video limits, and TikTok's photo or video settings and consent.

Your assistant is the brain. We are the hands. Most tools ship a caption generator, and they are thin, because one that knows only the box you typed into cannot know your last six months. We are not going to out-write Claude. So we built the other half: your own assistant, through our MCP, finds media, drafts, repairs and schedules into a queue you can stop. File-capable clients can upload local images or video; chat-only clients reuse library media.

Messaging automations never cold-message people. Three fixed outcomes, on every plan: comment-to-DM on Facebook, Instagram and X; public keyword replies there plus YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok; and an X follow-up on your own post. Each runs automatically or holds matches for approval. Postiz automates more broadly.

Five brands, one flat list

Run more than two or three clients and everything lands in one flat list, and a client asks how last month went while you work out which numbers are theirs.

Two problems are tangled there. Some clients just need keeping apart, and both products group accounts. Here the composer, calendar, posts, Inbox and analytics follow the group. A 24-hour revocable connection link lets the client authorize accounts without joining your workspace. The full multi-client setup is here.

Some need a room of their own. A workspace holds its own accounts, team, settings and billing. Postiz offers this through white-label enterprise from $200 a month, currently closed to applications. Our catch: every workspace needs its own subscription.

The verdict

Neither product is better. They are better at different jobs.

Get Posting is the stronger buy when

You publish to the mainstream seven, want the connections handled for you, want a post checked before it schedules, and would rather point your own assistant at a reliable publishing layer.

Postiz remains the better buy when

You want to own and host your scheduler, publish to platforms we do not support, want AI writing and media generation built in, or publish past our monthly caps.

Trying it without committing to anything

Your scheduled posts do not come with you. Keep Postiz running, connect the account that gave you trouble, and put a few real posts through here alongside it.

That takes a week and settles it better than any table, ours included. If it holds up, move the rest. If not, you have lost a week and you know why.

FAQ

The questions people actually ask

Including the ones with answers that do not favour us.

Is Get Posting a good Postiz alternative?

If you want a hosted scheduler for the seven mainstream platforms, with the connections already approved and every post checked before it schedules, yes. If you want open source, self-hosting, thirty plus platforms or built-in AI writing, Postiz is the better product and we would rather you stayed.

Why would I not just self-host Postiz for free?

If you are comfortable running a server, you probably should. The part people underestimate is registering your own developer app with each platform and getting it approved. Postiz's own pricing page says Facebook, Instagram, Threads and YouTube usually take more than a month. Get Posting cannot be self-hosted at all.

Is Get Posting a good Postiz alternative for agencies and social media managers?

It depends on the boundary. Groups filter the composer, calendar, posts, Inbox and analytics. A revocable 24-hour link lets clients connect accounts without joining. Clients needing dashboard access get separate subscribed workspaces. Postiz groups accounts; its isolated customer environments sit in enterprise.

Which platforms do you support that Postiz does not?

None. Postiz supports every platform we do and around twenty more. Ours are X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube.

Can Get Posting reply to comments or send DMs automatically?

Yes, with three fixed outcomes on every plan. Comment-to-DM covers Facebook, Instagram and X. Public keyword replies also cover YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok; TikTok cannot start a DM. X supports follow-up comments on your own posts. Each outcome runs automatically or holds matches for approval.

Does Get Posting write posts with AI?

Not inside the product, deliberately. A generator that knows only the box you typed into cannot know your last six months, and we are not going to out-write Claude. So we built the connection instead: bring your own assistant through our MCP. If you want the tool to fill the blank page, Postiz does.

Can Claude or ChatGPT publish posts through Get Posting?

Yes. MCP inspects accounts, drafts, validates, schedules library media and reads analytics. File-capable clients can upload local images or video; chat-only connectors cannot. Scheduling a minute ahead publishes a minute later through a cancellable queue. REST API v1 handles deletion.

Can I import my scheduled posts from Postiz?

No. There is no importer and we are not building one, so anything in a Postiz queue needs scheduling again here. Reconnecting accounts takes minutes. Keep Postiz running for a week and put a few real posts through here first.

How this page was checked

Everything here was verified against official sources on 8 August 2026. Pricing, plan limits and platform support in this category change often, so we re-check quarterly. If something is out of date, send us the official source and we will correct it and note the change here.

Still think it might be us?
Bring one real post and find out.

Connect the accounts you actually use, schedule something you were going to post anyway, and see where the checks happen. Seven days free, and if Postiz turns out to suit you better, that is a good outcome too.
